EUSTATHIUS

Latinized forma de Griego Ευσταθιος (Eustathios), derived from the Griego word ευσταθης (eustathes) meaning well-built, stable. It is ultimately from ευ (eu) good and ‘ιστημι (histemi) to stand, to set up. This was the name of a few early saints, including the 2nd-century martyr also known as Eustachius (see Eustace).
